The $6 Million Dollar Man: Closer Than Ever To Reality



CNet.com recently posted an article and interview with Bert Harman, CEO of Otto Bock Americas about how amputee technology is moving forward with implementing chip technology into their products. The chips take a data sample of the wearers environment and actions 50 times per second and optimize the leg and its components based on that information. In this same interview Harman says that he could see amputees having integrated body parts that are fused with their bones rather than being based on the current socket model within 10 years.
